FX said it has ordered a second 13-episode season of its original drama “Sons of Anarchy.”
The network said the show has been its most consistent first-year drama since “Rescue Me” and has been averaging a cumulative audience of 5.4 million total viewers and 3.5 million adults 18 to 49 over its five telecasts per week.
“It’s incredibly gratifying to everyone at FX in at this time when ‘The Shield’–the show that got our critically acclaimed original programming brand started–is airing its final season, their loyal audience has embraced `Sons of Anarchy’ and made it a success,” FX President John Landgraf said in a statement. “We’re also very proud of the day-in-day-out creative excellence the ‘Sons of Anarchy’ writers and actors are bringing to the table.”
The series, about an outlaw motorcycle gang in a small California town, is produced by Fox21 and stars Charlie Hunnam, Katey Sagal and Ron Perlman.
Ms. Sagal’s husband, Kurt Sutter, created the show and serves as an executive producer.
“I think the underlying themes of family and the common man's fight against oppressive corporate greed has grabbed people's attention,” Mr. Sutter said. “It's relatable, it's very timely and it's why the audience is coming back week after week. I love the action and the dark places the show goes, but ultimately it's the bigger, more poignant themes that inspire me.”

Best show to come out in a LONG time. The show's multiple undertones keeps you thinking, plus the kick ass action is awesome. It's about time a good show doesn't get cancelled.

Its so great that SOA is coming back for season two. I just hope that once season one is done that the box set is released ASAP. And may I just add that Tommy Flanagan who plays Chibs is incredibly sexy. I mean damn baby. He is hot. Please dont ever get rid of his character.

I love this show and so does my wife!!! This is the first show that we have watched together in the over 4 years we have been together!!! Thank you FX for the extra time I get to spend with my "old lady"!!! I have been hooked since I "stumbled" across the pilot episode. I now have a DVR just because of this show. You need to "push" it more.

i look forward to this show just as much as i look forward to every sunday and watching The AZ CARDINALS and that is saying something. It always leaves you leaves you praying that next wednesday will come fast. there is nothing bad to say about this show besides the fact the Al Bundy isnt in the show. I hope Everything works out with OPEY ( Remember the Titans) I havent seen him since that movie? anybody know any other work he has done?
this show has to be the best thing one T.V. in the last few years. FX is very Impressive and comes out with very good series ( Rescue me, Nip Tuck, Always Sunny, and many more) Keep up the good work FX and i cant wait till the next episode to see what happens with Opey.

Glad to see the second season, I look forward to watching. The show has the biker community's attention locally. Finally a show that recognizes the lifestyle. The first season was awesome and pretty close to the lifestyle.

Hope to see the show do as well as "the shild".
The more series the more depth, hart-stopping darkness that keeps you wanting more.
The plot deepens and the charictors become more intense with blood guns and sex.
A great show to fill in the # 1 rated "the shild"!!!..

This is probably the best show ever made. besides family guy. I never got so excited over a show until I saw this one. I started watching them at episode 5. Where kyle gets his tattoo's burned off. Since than I watched them all and I can't wait until season 2. Katey Sagal is an amazing actress who deserves every award possible for this show. Charlie Hunnam is also a great actor. I'd like to live his life for just one day. Just the way he handles everything. Walks with swag. Talks with swag. He is infected with it. Perfect cast and setting. I give this show a 10 out of 10. I look forward to this more than wathcing my Miami Dolphins. SOA takes precedent over all. Hope it never gets cancelled. Cheers to SOA and I hope we get 20 more seaons!!

I hope this show last for at least 5 seasons or possibly even longer. At the end of the episode where Donna got whacked I was scared that this season would be it, but thankfully they're giving it another go. I also hope that FX soon releases SAMCRO merchandise, vest,Samcro patch sets to be sewn on vest, even replicas of the SAMCRO meeting table, THAT would be killer to go in a dinning room!!!

My husband and I both ride bikes across this great country....and so to bring on a show about bikers is totally awesome! We finally have a show that BOTH of us cant wait to sit down to watch each and EVERY Wednesday night! You couldnt have picked better actors for the characters portrayed. Keep up the great work....and keep the show going! With bikers....there is always a story to tell!

This show is just simply amazing...that says it all right there. The acting, especially in the last 2 episodes of the season (just finished watching 'Revelator'), has been incredible and week after week it has me on the edge of my seat. And I mean literally on the edge! Sitting on the couch and something big's about to happen and I sit forward on the edge of the cushion, then BAM...commercial! Cannot wait until Season 2 starts showing!

This is for Tim. I too hate certain things that folks do. My big issue is those who correct someone and are themselves incorrect. In reference to the Ms. vs. Mrs. The author had the title correct. Her name is Ms. Katie Sagal. Ms. is a title that is used for both married and unmarried women. Also, she would never be considered Mrs. Sagal as her husband's name is Sutter. If anything she would be Mrs. Sutter.The general consensus is that a married woman using her husband's surname can choose to go by either Ms. or Mrs., though Mrs. is the more traditional option some women prefer. An adult woman using her maiden name (regardless of marital status) should be addressed as Ms. exclusively. Professional titles generally trump either Ms. or Mrs.
As for SOA. I am a recent convert who came upon the show by accident one night and am a huge fan. I am catching up on past episodes and can't wait for season 2.

So glad to see it is getting a second season. Great show. I watch it twice - once while my husband is at work & it is recording, and then I watch it with him. Never have I watched the same show twice (except Gone With The Wind when I was a teenager) that is just how good this show is.

I really like watching Sons of Anarchy. Can't wait for the 2nd season to begin. Hopefully it will have more than 13 episodes, because SOA is so addictive, 13 episodes is just not enough!

I love this show...but...they kill people and do things too easy and too fast...in rlife...they wouldve been done by episode 4...now i can understand its a show...but in the sopranos and the shield (the best show ever) when they whacked someone it was a huge dealio. And things like showing your faces to the informant?!?!??!!??...the feds would have their azzes,...even if tig likes to hump dead girls and horses.
BTW its cali...maybe VIC MACKEY shows up as an enforcer or disgraced cop looking to earn with the club? that would rock except they already had dutch in another role which fux the continuity.
ps....my gfriend wants to hump juice....i think she pictures him when were a rockin...but thats cool...right gemma lol!

This is a real show, It will definitely take the place of the shield, I Think Jax goes Harder than Vick Makcey anyway. My wife and I watch this show every wed and can't wait until season 2 please push for that 5 year ext so we can atleast get 7 seasons.

This show connects with such a broad and diverse audience; not easy to do! I'm with everyone else here, lets get SOA as many seasons as possible! Bring us the Season 1 DVD Set, and lets get Season 2 on the air as fast as possible!
