‘Batman’ Enters Brave New World With Interactive Web Site
Warner Bros. Animation has launched a new interactive Web site for fans of its Cartoon Network series “Batman: The Brave and the Bold,” which debuted Friday.
The site, www.braveandthebold.com, is an interactive, ad-supported destination for fans of all ages. Among the features included are multilevel games, animation tutorials and additional information on the show’s characters.
“Inter-action figures” allow viewers to customize their favorite characters and use them in digital images, screen savers and desktop wallpapers. The site’s game, “The Terror of the Time Traps,” allows players to team up Batman with one of several superheroes as they attempt to save the world through new levels unlocked each week to coincide with the series.
The show’s animators also will be featured in tutorials designed to teach fans how to draw Batman and other heroes featured in the series.
“Our site combines the coolest characters from the DC Comics family with the control, interactivity and social-media features that younger audiences have grown to expect from their entertainment content,” said Sam Ades, Warner Bros. Television Group VP of digital animation and KidsWB.com general manager.
“Batman: The Brave and the Bold” airs Fridays at 8 p.m. on Cartoon Network. The Web site is part of DCHeroZone.com and is accessible though KidsWB.com as well.
