Cox Cable to Add Fox Business Network

Fox Business Network is expected to announce this afternoon a new distribution deal, representing some 2 million digital subscribers to Cox Cable in several major markets, TelevisionWeek has learned.

The deal, which takes effect Jan. 1, will raise the 14-month-old FBN’s reach to nearly 45 million homes.

Cox had been one of the last large distributors to agree to carry Fox Business. Time Warner, Charter, Comcast, Verizon FiOS, AT&T and DirecTV already carry the channel.

Among the new markets FBN will reach are San Diego, Phoenix, Las Vegas, New Orleans and iconic investor Warren Buffet’s Ohama, Neb.

If Cox can do it, Cablevision can, too. And they'd better add it soon. Enough's enough.

Why? The channel's a turkey. This is just wasting an otherwise valuable slot used to bring in an HD channel that currently doesn't have room on Cox. Dumb.
