FearNet Joins Comcast Entertainment Group

FearNet, the 24-hour multiplatform cable network, has relocated its offices to Los Angeles and has become part of the Comcast Entertainment Group.

The network began as a joint venture among Comcast Corp., Sony Pictures TV and Lionsgate. The channel has access to more than 1,000 horror and thriller films from the Sony and Lionsgate libraries, in addition to producing original content for cable and the Web.

“This move to Los Angeles will enable the network to take advantage of new opportunities to grow content, distribution and advertising,” said Jeff Shell, Comcast Programming Group president. “FearNet will benefit from being closer to our partners and our West Coast-based networks under [Comcast Entertainment Group President and CEO] Ted Harbert, who has a remarkable track record of growing successful entertainment brands.”

FearNet joins other Comcast Entertainment Group properties including E! Entertainment Television, G4 and the Style Network.

Diane Robina will continue to serve as FearNet president.
