Golf Channel HD Kicks Off With PGA Tour
Golf Channel has launched a high-definition channel reaching almost 16 million homes in the U.S.
Golf Channel HD will feature exclusive HD coverage of the first three PGA Tour events from Hawaii, kicking off Thursday with the Mercedes-Benz Championship from Maui and continuing with the PGA’s Sony Open in Honolulu, the Champions Tour’s Mitsubishi Electric Championship in Hualalai and the LPGA Tour’s SBS Open at Turtle Bay. It will mark the first time the championships have aired in HD.
The channel will complement the HD broadcasts with technical features such as the Mutual of Omaha Putting Line and news in HD.
Original programming produced in HD, including “Hank Haney’s Project Barkley” and “Golf in America,” will round out the channel’s lineup.
