Showtime Launches ‘Tara’ Premiere on 100 Platforms

Showtime Networks has made the premiere of its new original series “United States of Tara” available on more than 100 platforms.

The season premieres of “The L Word” and “Secret Diary of a Call Girl” also will be made available on participating platforms day-and-date with their Jan. 18 Showtime premieres.

Among the participating Web sites are TV.com, Yahoo, YouTube, MSN, Fancast, Veoh, EW.com, Blockbuster.com, CinemaNow, TVGuide.com, Netflix, the CBS Audience Network, Facebook, Bebo, BestWeekEver.com, Gawker, Pink Is the New Blog and PopBytes.

The episodes will be made available on mobile phones via MobiTV, Joost's iPhone App, CBS Mobile on Verizon's V-Cast Mobile TV and AT&T Mobile TV via MediaFLO.

Twenty-four cable, telephone company and satellite providers, including AT&T, Charter, Comcast, Cox, Insight, Mediacom, NCTC affiliates, RCN, Time Warner, Verizon and DirecTV, will participate in the campaign as well, airing the “Tara” premiere on broadband and free on-demand 10 days before its Jan. 18 premiere on Showtime.
