PBS Kids to Launch Henson Co.’s ‘Dinosaur Train’
PBS Kids will premiere “Dinosaur Train,” a CGI-animated series from the Jim Henson Co., on Sept. 7.
The show aims to teach preschoolers about natural science, natural history and paleontology.
Forty half-hour episodes will be supported by live-action interstitials featuring paleontologist Dr. Scott Sampson. The show also will feature an interactive Web site for children and extended learning resources and activities at PBS Parents and PBS Teachers.
“Dinosaur Train” is created by Craig Bartlett and is co-produced by the Jim Henson Co. and Singapore’s BIG Communications. Additional production and financial support is provided by Ingenious Media in the U.K.
“PBS is thrilled to build on its commitment to provide more science-based content for our youngest audience with the addition of ‘Dinosaur Train,’” Linda Simensky, VP of children’s programming for PBS, said in a statement. “The Jim Henson Co. does a fantastic job at leveraging children’s natural interests in dinosaurs and trains while encouraging preschoolers to learn how to think, talk and act like paleontologists, which can open the door to a lifelong interest in science.”

My grandson loves your show and I would love to get it for him on DVD, as he doesn't receive it at his house. This is because they do not have an internet connection there.

My 2 yr old son loves this show. It's on while I'm at so, I and.or my mom tvo it so he can watch at night. He asks us to play it over and over again until it's time for him to go to bed. This show definitely holds his attention.
