Director Nolan Departs Big-Screen Version of ‘The Prisoner’

Filmmaker Christopher Nolan has walked away from directing the pending big-screen version of the 1960s cult TV series "The Prisoner," according to ContactMusic.com.

The director of "The Dark Knight" had been working on a movie update of "The Prisoner," which remains somewhat contingent on the success of AMC’s TV version, which will premiere later this year with Jim Caviezel in the Patrick McGoohan role, and Sir Ian McKellan as No 2.

Nolan has decided to concentrate on a second sequel to "The Dark Knight" instead, ContactMusic says.
