President Barack Obama’s appearance for the entire hour on CBS’s "Late Show with David Letterman" was a ratings bonanza, according to The Washington Post’s TV Column blog.

The show drew more than 7 million viewers, and was Letterman’s best numbers in four years. But 13 million viewers tuned into Letterman four years ago, in December, 2005, when Dave had Oprah Winfrey on his show as they "kissed and made up, ending a years-long feud," the TV Column said.
