Tom Wolfe’s “The Right Stuff” has been greenlighted as a TV series, with Oscar winner Leonardo DiCaprio on board as an executive producer.
The adaptation of Wolfe’s account of the early days of the U.S. space program is in the works at National Geographic. DiCaprio, who won an Oscar in 2016 for “The Revenant,” executive produces with Jennifer Davisson and Mark Lafferty, who is also showrunner.
The project comes from DiCaprio’s Appian Way and Warner Horizon Scripted Television. David Nutter (“Game of Thrones,” “Band of Brothers”) will direct the premiere episode.
