“Singer R. Kelly appeared Wednesday in a Chicago court, where a judge said he would like to set a trial date for early next year and prosecutors turned over a DVD allegedly showing pornographic images involving a minor,” CNN reports.

Kelly entered not guilty pleas earlier this month to 11 new charges in his sexual assault and sexual abuse case, the story reports, citing Kelly’s attorney, Steve Greenberg.

“Judge Lawrence Flood placed a protective order on the DVDs and warned both parties against leaking them,” CNN notes.

The report quotes Flood saying: “If there’s any violation of this protective order, I’m going to impose sanctions, severe sanctions. I just want everybody on notice with that. Plus, there could be criminal implications to violation of this protective order.”

The next hearing in Kelly’s case is set for Aug. 15. In the meantime, the singer remains free on bonds totaling $1 million that were set in February, CNN notes.
