Sony has inked a deal with FIFA to telecast as many as 25 World Cup soccer matches from the upcoming 2010 tournament, reports B&C.
Sony’s 3-D technology will capture the games in a unique new way and Sony Pictures Entertainment will produce and distribute the 3-D material after the games are over. The U.S. broadcast rights for the World Cup are held by ESPN, with games airing on ABC, ESPN and ESPN2.
