CBS Sports President Sean McManus recalls attending 10 Indianapolis 500s and seven U.S. Opens by the time he was 20 with his father, sportscaster Jim McKay, who died June 7, according to TVWeek. Mr. McManus also met the big names in the TV business, including Howard Cosell, who was in a crowd in their hotel after the Kentucky Derby. When Mr. Cosell complained there was no place he could get away from all those people, Mr. McManus says his dad replied “Howard, have you considered your room?”
