Charter Communications is considering a lower-cost cable package to convince customers to return after dropping the service because of financial issues, reports MediaPost.
The company is looking at "a lower-tier, more economic package. We can go back to those households that are experiencing challenging times in this economy with something that would be better-suited for them," said Chief Executive Michael Lovett. He added that Charter still needs to iron out issues tied to agreements with programmers, the story notes. Speaking at a conference last week, he didn’t disclose details on timing or where the service would roll out.
As previously reported, Time Warner Cable will be testing a lower-cost package, perhaps as a way to keep customers frustrated with their cable bill.
