A project  described as "Desperate Housewives" meets "The Sopranos" has been given a pilot script commitment, reports Nellie Andreeva at Deadline.com. 

Bird York, who earned an Oscar nomination for the song "In the Deep" for the film "Crash," is writing the drama pilot script for Fox called "In Deep,"

The project focuses on a female undercover FBI agent sent to infiltrate the Chicago mob. 20th Century Fox is producing the project, which has a script commitment.
