MTV’s "Skins" drew 1.2 million viewers for its finale, up slightly from the previous week, but the future of the show is up in the air, reports EW.com’s Inside TV.
MTV said Tuesday it hasn’t decided whether to renew the show, the story says. While the show improved its ratings and outperformed last summer’s first season of "The Hard Times of R.J. Berger," which was renewed, the status of “Skins” is complicated by controversy surrounding the series.
As TVWeek has previously reported, several advertisers withdrew from the show after the Parents Television Council started a campaign against the program.
