History Channel has announced plans to debut a new series Jan. 8 that will be a spinoff of the channel’s most popular show, TheWrap.com reports.

The new show is “Cajun Pawn Stars,” set at the Silver Dollar Pawn & Jewelry Center in Alexandria, La. It will follow the format of Las Vegas-based “Pawn Stars,” which has been a huge hit for History.

The new show features the DeRamus family: "Big Daddy," Tammie and Johnnie.

The Silver Dollar Pawn Shop is huge — 20,000 square feet, holding 100,000 items — and is already considered a tourist attraction. Jimmie "Big Daddy" DeRamus is a 30-year veteran of the pawn business and is considered a "walking encyclopedia" of knowledge about valuable and historic collectibles.
