Starz has cast the lead in a new original series focused on Leonardo da Vinci, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The part in “Da Vinci’s Demons” goes to British actor Tom Riley.

The series is a co-production with BBC Worldwide and is described as a historical fantasy drama. Riley is the first actor cast in the project, the piece notes.

Riley is a regular at London’s Royal Court Theatre and has appeared on TV’s "Monroe" and "Bouquet of Barbed Wire," the story notes.
