Kate Gosselin, the former reality star of shows such as TLC’s "Jon & Kate Plus 8," has accused her ex-husband in a lawsuit of hacking into her computer and phone to get information for a tell-all book, reports the Associated Press.
The federal lawsuit alleges that Jon Gosselin tapped in to her bank accounts, email and other private data to gather material for a book called "Kate Gosselin: How She Fooled the World."
The 2012 book was pulled from the market after two days, the lawsuit alleges, because it included illegally obtained information.
"Jon violated a federal anti-hacking statute in order to publish salacious, scandalous and defamatory information about Kate," A. Jordan Rushie, Kate Gosselin’s attorney, said, adding: "It’s damaged her reputation."
An attorney who had represented Jon Gosselin in the past didn’t immediately return a message, while the book’s writer, also named as a defendant, didn’t return a request for comment.
