Oxygen has announced a list of pilot and script orders, including a docu-soap on Capitol Hill staffers and a hairstyling competition series.
“This year, we have cast a wider net with our development slate by including more reality and trying different things with animation and large-scale productions,” said Aaron Meyerson, Oxygen’s senior VP of development and production. “We are branching out in new directions.”
Some of the new projects include:
“Capitol Hill Girls,” a half-hour docu-soap following the lives of a group of women working in politics on Capitol Hill.
“Tease,” a half-hour series in which a team of famous hairstylists compete against challengers.
“Angry Little Girls,” a half-hour animated comedy based on a book by Lela Lee that follows a group of elementary school girls who share their opinions and anger.
“Once More With Feeling,” a half-hour reality series in which people are taught to sing and dance to ultimately surprise an unsuspecting loved one with a big Broadway-musical-style announcement in a public place.
“Robin Hudson Mysteries,” a one-hour dramedy about a news reporter who solves mysteries. The show is produced by Lynda Obst (“How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days,” “Sleepless in Seattle”).
