BET’s reality program “Harlem Heights,” which debuts March 2, follows Brooke Crittendon, the former fiancee of rapper Kanye West, and who said her reason for doing the show was feeling misunderstood as the significant other of a celebrity, the New York Daily News reports. “Because I played the background to the person I was dating, I had to go through people saying things about me or assuming who I was. I just wanted to let people know who I am and what I really do. I’m not just this person’s girlfriend,” she said.
