A&E Network has picked up “Runaway Squad,” a reality program that follows a former undercover detective searching for runaway kids on a pro bono basis, TelevisionWeek reports. A&E tested the pilot in December, drawing 1.2 million viewers, the publication says. “[The show is] very dramatic and it’s very real, and that’s what the network is all about, ”Robert Sharenow, senior VP for nonfiction programming at A&E, tells TelevisionWeek.
