Local television newscasts continued to lose viewers in 2008, MediaPost reports, citing sweeps ratings data. Local newscasts lost viewers in three of the year’s four sweep periods, with ratings down 3.1% in Feb. 2008, 6.9% in July and 11.4% in November, while ratings rose 3.6% in May, the publication says.
