Former Discovery Communications President Judith McHale was nominated by President Barack Obama to become the Under Secretary for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs in the State Department, Broadcasting & Cable reports. McHale left Discovery in Dec. 2006 and next worked with private equity firm Global Environment Fund, the trade magazine says.
