IBM plans to announce that it is nearly done with a computer program it thinks could be able to beat humans at the syndicated game show “Jeopardy!,” the New York Times reports. During the match, the computer program, dubbed Watson, will get the questions in the form of electronic text and respond with a synthesized voice, the paper says, while its human opponents will get hear the questions read by Alex Trebeck and be able to see them written out as text as well.
