The FCC, seeking public comment on media content-control technologies, received about 10,000 comments, with the majority asking for technology to eliminate inappropriate words, Multichannel News reports. More than 95% of the comments referred to the product TV Guardian, which can find substitutes for curse words on TV shows, TV Guardian president Britt Bennett tells the publication. Multichannel News adds that the publication wasn’t able to verify that statistic, although many of the comments did ask for generic filtering of inappropriate words.
