BET is working on a plan to bring back The CW’s comedy "The Game," which will be announced at its upfront presentation this month, the Hollywood Reporter says.

The network has renegotiated new deals with the show’s actors after their options expired after The CW canceled the program last year. With original showrunner Brock Akil serving as a consulting producer on ABC’s "Cougar Town," her husband Salim Akil will take over as showrunner on "The Game."

She’ll be returning as an executive producer on "The Game," however.

BET will take a lead in producing new episodes as CBS Studios is licensing the program to BET, the Reporter says.
