Veteran Hollywood publicist Ronni Chasen was killed in a shooting in the early hours of Tuesday morning after attending an after-party for the premiere of the Cher movie “Burlesque,” the L.A. Times reports.

Chasen, 64, was reportedly shot multiple times while driving her Mercedez-Benz on Sunset Boulevard. She had attended the movie premiere at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre before going to the party at Hollywood’s W Hotel, according to the story.

Chasen is a longtime publicist whose clients have included the late Natalie Wood and film producers Dick Zanuck and Irwin Winkler. She was active in helping directors, writers, musicians and actors compete for the Academy Awards, and was currently promoting Michael Douglas for best supporting actor for “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps” and “Alice in Wonderland 3D” for best picture, Deadline.com reports.

When police arrived at the scene at about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday they found Chasen’s car crashed into a light pole, the Times article reports. She was alone in the car and had been shot multiple times in the chest.
