An infomercial pitchman who has been accused of being a con man was arrested Thursday night in Tempe, Ariz., after failing to appear in court for an arraignment, reports the AP.

Donald Lapre, who has recently been hawking "The Greatest Vitamin in the World," has been indicted by a grand jury on 41 counts of conspiracy, mail fraud, wire fraud and promotional money laundering. According to prosecutors, Lapre’s company defrauded the public of nearly $52 million and sold worthless Internet-based business franchises to more than 220,000 victims.

The Phoenix-based huckster failed to appear at his scheduled Wednesday arraignment, prompting the U.S. Marshal’s Service to arrest him.
