The legal wrangling between dick clark productions and the Hollywood Foreign Press Association has been settled and the Golden Globes will go on as planned, reports the L.A. Times.

The ceremony will be televised by NBC on Jan. 15, 2012.

The HFPA, dick clark productions and NBC jointly announced today that they have agreed to a one-year deal to stage the event at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

A long-term solution to their differences regarding the future of the broadcast has yet to be reached. This is a temporary solution for 2012 only.

Nominations for the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards will be announced Dec. 15.

As we previously reported, Ricky Gervais, who ruffled feathers with his irreverent hosting of the 2011 event, is considering what might be described as a “Mystery Science Theater 3000” take on the awards. Gervais has been blogging about holding an online audio “simulcast” in which he and some of his fellow comedians would provide their take on the ceremony live and uncensored.
