Making the widely publicized 72-day Kim Karshahian-Kris Humphries marriage look like a marathon by comparison, Irish singer Sinead O’Connor has ended her marriage after 16 days, Reuters reports.

O’Connor, known for her shaved head and for hits including the Prince cover “Nothing Compares 2 U,” cited disapproval from her husband’s family as a factor in ending her marriage to Barry Herridge.

O’Connor, 46, blogged that things started going wrong three hours after the couple’s Dec 8. wedding in Las Vegas and said they had lived together for just seven days before they split up on Christmas Eve, the story says.

O’Connor wrote on her blog: "Within 3 hours of the ceremony being over the marriage was kyboshed (ruined) by the behavior of certain people in my husband’s life. And also by a bit of a wild ride I took us on looking for a bit of a smoke of weed for me wedding night as I don’t drink."
