Future Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning, the NFL’s only four-time MVP, ended the suspense today over where he would land, with news surfacing that he is set to play for the Denver Broncos, AP reports.

Manning became a free agent two weeks ago, after the Indianapolis Colts released him. He sat out the 2011 season with neck injuries.

The story reports that Manning instructed his agent to open negotiations with the Broncos. He was wooed to Denver by John Elway, who won two Super Bowls as the Broncos quarterback and remains with the team as VP of football operations.

Tim Tebow, who was the biggest story in the NFL last season when he led the Broncos to the playoffs despite his unorthodox and inconsistent quarterback play, is now considered likely to be traded away by the team.
