After reports that Michael Jackson’s 82-year-old mother Katherine Jackson had disappeared, it was confirmed this morning that she is safe and sound with family in Arizona, reports ABC News.

The family matriarch is resting and "safe with family members," an L.A. County Sheriff’s spokesman said. In a statement from Michael’s brother Jermaine, it was revealed that the family member is Michael’s sister, Rebbie, and Katherine is "resting upon doctor’s advice."

Jermaine Jackson’s statement continues, "It dismays me that such an alarmist ‘missing person’ report has caused unnecessary anxiety among Michael’s children who will understandably react to what they misunderstand, hear or are told.”

Apparently, Katherine Jackson left her Calabasas, Calif., home on July 15 and flew to Albuquerque, N.M., where she watched four of her sons in concert. Michael’s daughter Paris was the one who tweeted that she could not locate her grandmother.
