Barbara Walters turned down an interview with Trayvon Martin shooter George Zimmerman because of an allegedly unreasonable demand, reports the New York Post’s Page Six.

Walters flew to Florida this week to meet with Zimmerman and his attorney to discuss a potential interview, which would have taken place after his interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity. As previously reported, Zimmerman granted his first interview to Hannity.

Walters was already reportedly concerned because she prefers to secure exclusives. Zimmerman allegedly demanded ABC put him up at a hotel for a month, a demand that reportedly left Walters "appalled" and caused her to turn down the deal, the story notes.

An ABC News representative said Walters met with Zimmerman, but declined to confirm his demands.

“She went down there with every intention of doing an interview, but Mr. Zimmerman made a demand at the last minute that we could not and would never agree to,” he said, according to the story.
