A familiar entertainer is the subject of an investigation into his whereabouts. According to The Hollywood Reporter, a judge has ordered an investigation into the location of Casey Kasem after an attorney for Kasem said he had been removed from the country.

Kasem, 82, is best known for his work in radio — including the countdown show "American Top 40" — and for providing the voice of Shaggy in "Scooby-Doo" cartoons. He has been suffering from advanced Parkinson’s disease and can no longer speak, and his children have complained that they have been unable to see their dad and have been in conflict with their stepmother, Jean Kasem.

Reports surfaced back in October painting a grim picture of Casey Kasem's condition, as we reported at the time.

“Daughter Kerri Kasem had sought a temporary conservatorship and was appointed her father's temporary caretaker on Monday. Her attorney, Troy Martin, said the family believes the entertainer has been taken to an Indian reservation in Washington state,” the story notes.

An attorney for Jean Kasem said at Monday’s hearing that he didn’t know where the entertainer was, but that he has been moved from the country, which brought “stunned protests from [Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Daniel S.] Murphy and two of Casey Kasem’s daughters,” the story notes.
