‘The Sopranos’ Is No Longer HBO’s Most-Watched Series

HBO’s “The Sopranos” has been surpassed as the pay-cable network’s most-watched series ever, with the fantasy drama “Game of Thrones” moving into the top spot, reports Deadline.com.

The fantasy drama, based on novels by George R.R. Martin, has drawn an average gross audience per episode of 18.4 million viewers, beating the 2002 season of “The Sopranos,” which drew an average of 18.2 million viewers per episode.

“Game of Thrones” has two episodes left in its current fourth season, and HBO has already ordered fifth and sixth seasons.
