Broadcasters in the Miami-Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., market are not too pleased with the Local People Meter measuring system recently deployed by Nielsen in the area, Broadcasting & Cable reports. The new method has been returning lower ratings for viewership, particularly among important demographic groups. Nielsen increased the market size from 500 to 620 households, but some say the sample size is still too small and incorporates a more substantial Hispanic community than should be based on population, B&C reports.
