NBC’s comedy pilot “Off Duty” has tapped Bonnie Sommerville to co-star as the wife of a police officer, while ABC’s comedy pilot “An American Family” hired Jesse Tyler Ferguson, the Hollywood Reporter says. Ferguson will play one half of a gay couple who have adopted a Vietnamese baby in “Family,” which is a docu-style single-camera comedy, the Reporter says.
