Close-up: Kathleen Keefe

Hearst-Argyle Television has named Kathleen Keefe as its new vice president of sales. Ms. Keefe, who will report to Tony Vinciquerra, Hearst-Argyle’s executive vice president and chief operating officer, will help oversee sales at the group’s 27 owned TV stations. A 14-year broadcast advertising sales executive with the Post-Newsweek Stations, Ms. Keefe served as vice president of sales and marketing. While at Post-Newsweek, she held sales positions at WFSB-TV in Hartford and KPRC-TV in Houston, before becoming general manager of WKMG-TV in Orlando, Fla. Among her accomplishments at the Post-Newsweek group, she oversaw the creation, and implementation of a major television environmental campaign, “Get Down to Earth,” which was nominated for an Emmy Award. Before joining Post-Newsweek, Ms. Keefe served as an account executive and then as a sales manager for MMT Sales, a leading New York station rep firm. She began her career at Young & Rubicam, rising to the position of spot broadcast buyer.
