Close-up: Greg Meidel

Greg Meidel has been named president of programming for Paramount Domestic Television. He will report to Joel Berman, who is president of the company. Mr. Meidel was most recently president, chief operating officer and partner at Massive Media Group. He will oversee all programming and development, including “Entertainment Tonight,” “The Montel Williams Show” and “Maximum Exposure.” Mr. Meidel will also be responsible for the division’s first-run syndicated shows “Rendez-View” and “Hot Ticket,” which are set to debut in the fall. Mr. Meidel said in a statement that he is thrilled “to be returning home to Paramount, where I have a great deal of respect for Joel and his division.” Mr. Meidel first worked at Paramount starting in 1979, when he served as Southwest division manager. By 1992, he was executive vice president and general sales manager. Later, he joined Studios USA/Universal Television Group as chairman and CEO.
