Be Here generates
$6M in financing
Enhanced television technology developer Be Here has raised $6 million in equity financing from a group of investors led by Snider Capital. The company, which adds depth and motion to live television broadcasts via high-powered manipulation of camera angles, has now raised $23 million in financing since its inception in 1996. Be Here’s technology has been used to enable Internet and interactive television viewers to zoom in on live broadcasts by controlling the focus of a virtual online camera. Several professional sports leagues have allied themselves with Be Here, including the National Basketball Association and the National Hockey League.
Lexus to be featured
on TiVo’s lpreview
Television programming suggestion engine and personal video recording service TiVo has added Lexus as one of its charter advertisers. By enrolling in TiVo’s Ipreview personal TV advertising program, Lexus will be able to place a special icon on the service that points consumers to Lexus-sponsored programming.
Winfirst deploying media technologies
Overbuilder network Winfirst, which is planning to bundle cable television, high-speed Internet and phone services to consumers in several cities in the western United States, will soon unveil some innovative features. The broadband purveyor is planning to deploy Canal Plus Technologies’ interactive television middleware. In addition, the technology infrastructure provider will utilize Ceon’s customer order fulfillment system.
