Close-up: Stephen McPherson

Stephen McPherson has been elevated to president of Disney-owned Touchstone Television.
Mr. McPherson was Touchstone’s executive vice president of production.
In May’s network series presentations in New York, he helped Touchstone place seven new fall 2001 series.
He will continue to report to ABC Entertainment TV Group Co-Chairmen Lloyd Braun and Stu Bloomberg. Before joining Touchstone in 1998, Mr. McPherson was vice president of prime-time series for NBC, where he worked on “Just Shoot Me” and “The Pretender,” among other programs. Before that, he was a senior vice president of creative affairs for ABC Productions, supervising numerous comedies and dramas, including “My So-Called Life” and “The Commish.” Mr. McPherson has also held programming and production posts at Fox Broadcasting Co. and Witt-Thomas-Harris Productions.
