TechTV, ABC to share
Cable network TechTV and ABCNews.com have entered a content-sharing agreement under which TechTV’s technology news will appear on the network’s site. Under the terms of the deal, ABCNews.com’s moniker may also appear on TechTV.com’s site.
PVR demand healthy
A recent Yankee Group study showed that 68 percent of cable subscribers surveyed were interested in a personal video recording service that would suggest programs, while 85 percent of direct broadcast satellite subscribers expressed interest in such a feature. The study was published this month by Yankee Group analysts Adi Kishore and Michele Pelino.
Charter, Diva grows
Charter Communications expanded its agreement with video-on-demand service Diva, the companies announced. Under the new pact, 1.7 million Charter subscribers will be able to access Diva content.
S-A using Starz VOD
Set-top manufacturer Scientific-Atlanta is demonstrating Starz Encore’s subscription video-on-demand service at this week’s CTAM Summit in San Francisco.
ABC targets truckers
ABC Radio Networks is launching a channel to be aired on Sirius Satellite Radio’s service that will provide news and entertainment for truck drivers and truck fleet managers. The channel will be called The Midnight Cowboy Trucking Radio Network.
