Ray Carter is the new VP and general manager of Cox Broadcasting’s WPXI-TV , Pittsburgh. He was most recently news director at WSB-TV in Atlanta. Mr. Carter’s career in broadcasting began in 1983 when he became assistant promotions director for KBYU-TV, Provo, Utah; he also became a radio announcer and a program host for KEYY-AM in Provo. He then became an anchor and reporter for KCAU-TV, in Sioux City, Iowa, and later news director and main anchor for WMGC-TV in Binghamton, N.Y. In 1994 he landed at KSL-TV, Salt Lake City, Utah, as VP of news. Mr. Carter remained there until 1997, when he left for WSB.
