Ad market explored at Upfront Summit

Leading media buyers and top national advertisers will take center stage at this year’s Upfront Summit to be held May 8 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in New York.
Representing media-buying agencies will be Mel Berning, president, U.S. Broadcast for MediaVest; Bob Flood, senior VP, director, national electronic media, for Optimedia U.S.; Dan Rank, managing director, broadcast television, for OMD US; and Donna Speciale, executive VP, national and local broadcast, for MediaCom.
Scheduled to appear on the client side are Donna Campanella, director/ team leader, media, for Pfizer; Chris Clouser, executive VP and chief global marketing officer of Burger King Corp. (keynoter); John Miles, executive VP, managing director, GM Mediaworks; James McDowell, VP, marketing, for BMW North America; and Guy Smith, executive VP, external affairs, Diageo (special remarks).
Electronic Media’s Media Buyers of the Year-Jason Maltby, senior partner and managing director, national broadcast, for MindShare U.S.; and Lisa Cragoe, senior buyer for GSD&M-will also be on hand to accept their awards from Charlie Collier, executive VP, ad sales, for Court TV.
“It’s an impressive group,” said Chuck Ross, editor of Electronic Media and co-moderator of the Upfront Summit. “And I think attendees will learn a lot watching them go head to head with media sellers.”
The Upfront Summit starts at 8 a.m. with registration and a continental breakfast. The Grand Hyatt Hotel is located at Park Avenue and 42nd Street.
