Larry Fischer has been named president of Time Warner Cable Advertising Sales. He was promoted from executive VP, operations. In his new role Mr. Fischer will lead all of Time Warner Cable’s advertising efforts locally and nationally. Mr. Fischer’s previous positions include president of Time Warner CityCable Advertising, New York, and exclusive sales agent for NY1 News, Time Warner’s 24-hour all-news channel in New York. Before joining TWC in 1988, Mr. Fischer was executive VP for Spencer Sports Media, and he worked with NBA Commissioner David Stern from 1984 to 1986. He began his advertising career with Grey Advertising in 1971 and later worked with RKO General as an account executive.
