ESPN and Liberate on the same team
ESPN and Liberate Technologies are working together on several enhanced programming projects, including ESPN Today Plus VOD, a virtual channel that viewers will be able to tailor to deliver to them on-demand content; synchronized programming that will let viewers pull up statistics related to the programming on the screen; and ESPN Extra, a 24-hour-a-day real-time update service.
Fennel becomes president and CEO of Pinnacle
J. Kim Fennel was named president and CEO of Pinnacle Systems, a digital video technology company in Mountain View, Calif. He was president and CEO of StorageWay, a storage services provider. He starts his new job July 1. Pinnacle’s previous president and CEO, Mark Sanders, was named chairman of the board and will continue to be actively involved in the company.
And the Webby goes to … the Osbournes
The Osbournes Web site, at www.mtv.com/onair/osbournes, was named best TV site of the year at the sixth annual Webby Awards last week in San Francisco.
