John Kohler has been named senior VP, creative affairs, for Paramount Domestic Television. Mr. Kohler is being promoted from VP of creative affairs. In his new role he will oversee all current programming responsibilities for “Judge Joe Brown” and the development and repurposing of the division’s archival programming. Mr. Kohler first joined Paramount Domestic TV in 1989, working on the launches of “The Arsenio Hall Show” and “Hard Copy.” In 1991 he relocated to New York, where he served as associate producer on the launch of “The Maury Povich Show.” In 1992 he returned to Hollywood to serve as director of program development for Paramount Domestic TV, and in 1993 he was promoted to executive director, creative affairs. In 1999 he became VP, responsible for programming on “Real TV,” “Rendez-View” and “Maximum Exposure.”
