Interactive TV company Buzztime Entertainment said 42 percent of digital cable customers on Susquehana Communications’ York, Pa., system tuned into and played on its trivia channel during the first three months of its trial run. The operator’s churn rates in September were 3.5 percent for Buzztime-registered set-top boxes compared with 5.6 percent for nonregistered boxes. Buzztime offers six channels of play-along trivia games.
Seagram in holiday VOD promotion
Video-on-demand provider iN Demand has partnered with Seagram’s ginger ale for a holiday promotion from Oct. 15, 2002, through Jan. 31, 2003. During that time, Seagram will promote an iN Demand movie pass offer on packaging and 25,000 point-of-sales displays. The featured movies include “Changing Lanes,” “High Crimes,” “Lord of the Rings” and “The Time Machine.”
