National Cable Communications has partnered with Visible World and SeaChange to test customized advertising in interconnected cable television markets. The companies will use the IntelliSpot system from Visible World and SeaChange, which can automatically assemble multiple versions of a commercial and then deliver them to different geographic areas across TV markets. NCC will start testing this month in the Albany, N.Y., area through its CableLink Interconnects division. That trial will be followed by a January deployment in its six other CableLink markets.
Microsoft guide adds systems
Microsoft announced it will deploy its interactive program guide to Uvision LLC and Willamette Broadband cable systems in the first quarter of 2003. The systems serve more than 20,000 subscribers in Oregon.
Magna anime for iN Demand
iN Demand will add Japanese anime product from Magna Entertainment to its slate of on-demand content available to digital cable subscribers beginning in January 2003.
Sporting News service hits 1 million
The Sporting News Insider, an interactive TV sports information service by The Sporting News, now reaches more than 1 million homes. The service is accessible with a remote control and provides game results, statistics, box scores and league standings. The service is carried in several Charter Communications markets.
